Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you from Llanberis Mountain Film Festival, a festival celebrating mountain culture and the spirit of adventure. As part of the event, we hold a village-wide shopfront Art exhibition, where Artworks of Welsh Artists are displayed in windows along the High Street, as well as in a gallery in the Electric Mountain, and in the main venue, the Canolfan. I am searching for relevant work by new artists, and wondered if you could help? Perhaps you could circulate the email among those on your website. The festival will be held over the weekend of the 7th - 9th of March.
If anybody is interested, or if you would like more infomation, please feel free to get in touch with me anytime,
Many thanks,
Jess Mead Silvester

ORIEL DAFYDD HARDY FOR GWYNEDD ART GALLERIES.
What is the Oriel Dafydd Hardy? Oriel Dafydd Hardy is an alternative/experimental/youth focused arts venue run on a purely altruistic basis by Dafydd Hardy Estate Agents.
This art space offers an unique opportunity for talented young undergraduates, graduates and post graduates to come together to exchange ideas, stage innovative exhibitions and develop a strong alternative artistic community in the town. No commission is taken from these young (or unestablished) artists and some financial assistance may be given to overcome basic printing and promotional expenses.
Why was the Oriel Dafydd Hardy created? Concerned about drain of art graduates from North Wales Dafydd Hardy Estates Agents hopes to provide young Welsh artists with the chance to :-
- showcase their work in gallery with a reputation for integrity
exhibit and experiment free from restrictions of aesthetic convention and/or the establishment bridge the gap between the creative exchange of the art school studio and the isolation of working alone. overcome some basic exhibition and promotional expenses Oriel Dafydd Hardy will endeavour to bring the best of other Celtic, UK and EU artists to Caernarfon. What exhibitions are planned:

Oriel Dafydd Hardy tries to keep the exhibition programme as open as possible so young artists are not faced with a wait of 12 or 18 month for an exhibition.
Those interested should call - Glenys Davies on 07774 730 325 or e-mail oriel@dafyddhardy.co.uk
Display of work , Gallery space: This basement gallery has approx.17 metres of wall hanging space; approx 40 square metres of floor space; an absence of natural light providing an ideal area for film/video/light installation and projection; an excellent space for solo experimental site-specific / installation work; an alcove for further small video and/or sound experimental work;
Web Gallery Dafydd Hardy Estates Agents intends to display selected artists; work on-line via this website; Plasma Screen A large plasma screen display is planned for the Caernarfon office window to relay basement events/exhibitions onto the Castle Square.
More long term:.. Oriel Dafydd Hardy hopes to encourage the growth of a dynamic group of young artists to form the Caernarfon Artists' Co-operative. This young co-op would work to obtain funding from grant-giving bodies to house: large-scale cutting edge national & international exhibitions/theatre; individual & communal studio spaces with a supply of bulk purchased art materials and equipment; an Artist In Residence Scheme.

Re: Northern Bloc Project 2006 - 2007
Bloc are delighted to introduce Mici Plwm and Tina Ball as the new Project Officers for the next phase of the Northern Bloc Project. This phase extends the project remit to the three counties of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
Bloc was formed as an art and technology forum in 1998 in response to the creative, commercial and cultural developments that became available through digital technology - a new field of practice referred to as 'new media'. It has now grown into a pan-Wales creative technology organisation.
Northern Bloc was established as a pilot project in 2005, in Conwy County. The aim of the project being to identify and bring together individuals and clusters from the creative industries working with new technology; collate information about activity and provision for the sector in Conwy; identify examples of best practice and programme a series of professional development events for practitioners and providers in the area.
Now in its second phase, Northern Bloc continues to develop networks to provide real opportunities for collaboration, alliance, and partnership between Wales-based organisations, enabling cross discipline exchanges between business and industry, science and technology, education and creative practices.
This year we are excited to be putting together a new timetable of informative and relevant networking events, seminars and a one-day conference; details of which will be circulated in the coming months. These events will be based upon the key professional development issues that have been collectively identified in the pilot project.
If you haven't already heard of Northern Bloc or benefited from any of its activities, we want to hear from you to ensure we reach all creative technology practitioners and providers in the project area. You can contact either project officer via the details below. Additionally, you can keep up to date with Northern Bloc's activities on the website (www.bloc.org.uk) and by registering for the free Bloc Bulletin, which contains information and opportunities for the creative technology sector in Wales and the UK. To register for the Bulletin, visit the website and register your details.
Please get in touch on the contact details below if you would like any further information on any of Northern Bloc's activities.
Northern Bloc is supported by the Arts Council of Wales, Conwy County Borough Council, Gwynedd Council and Isle of Anglesey County Council.
We look forward to hearing from you shortly.
Yours sincerely
Mici Plwm / Tina Ball

We are a company of auctioneers in north Wales and hold a bi-annual sale of Welsh art - art by a Welsh artist or of a Welsh theme. This auction is known as “The Welsh Sale”, it has been running successfully for several years and appears to be growing from strength to strength.
In our next Welsh Sale, April 21st 2007, we are launching a new section called Emerging Welsh Artists. We have already received extremely promising work for this category and we are inviting further entries.
Are you able to put us in touch with emerging artists who you would recommend as entrants to the Welsh Sale? We operate a no sale no fee system. Please visit our web site should you wish to investigate us further. www.rogersjones.co.uk
