PAT BRIGGS
Pat Briggs was born in Yorkshire. She became a student at Leeds College of Art and was a scholarship winner for sculpture at the Royal College of Art in London. She moved to Swansea in 1968 where she worked both as an artist & as an art lecturer. Together with David Barron, she run the Foundation Course at the Swansea Art College; she still lives in Swansea.
A comment in "Drawn from Wales" by K.Brander-Dunthorne (2oo3, p.78) states: "Pat Briggs is known for her commitment to creative recycling. From this cartoon [p.78], however, it would appear that, in the past, destruction played as vital a role in her creative process as conservation does today".
